ABOUT:
Hello! My name is DJ Cabanlong I am a sports photographer based in the Las Vegas/Henderson, Nevada area. I am currently attending the University of Nevada Las Vegas as a Journalism major with a concentration in Sports Media.
Growing up, I played numerous sports such as: Basketball, Hockey, Football, and more. I always had love for sports whether it be watching or playing. Sports photography is where two of my biggest passions become one.
I have worked with many teams and organizations in the Las Vegas area. I had my first opportunity working as a sports photographer for B-League Las Vegas, an organized volleyball and basketball league in Las Vegas, in 2022. I took pictures for their marketing and social media team. I has also have had the opportunity to freelance for teams such as: The Seattle Storm, Tulsa University Softball, Purdue University Wrestling, Northwestern University Volleyball, and the Las Vegas Lights FC.
In August 2024, I had the honor of receiving Sports Photo of the year at the Collegiate level from the Nevada Press Foundation.
Today, I now serve as the Photo Editor of the University of Nevada Las Vegas' Newspaper, The Scarlet & Gray Free Press. Additionally, I am an intern with UNLV Athletics as a team photographer for all of our athletic teams.  Outside of UNLV, I serve as a staff photographer for The Sporting Tribune and a Freelance Photographer for The Las Vegas Review Journal.
